Maruti Suzuki always believed in bringing the new and fresh designs to attract the customers of every class. This car was first introduced as the concept car at the 2006 Paris Motor Show with the name of Splash but now this has been renamed to Ritz.

Maruti who surprised the Indian customers two decades ago with its Maruti 800 that broke all the records and mobilized dreams of millions. Maruti didn’t stopped there and kept on moving ahead while maintaining the pace with the time, and time to time it brought innovative designs and elegant cars for its customers whether it be Zen, Alto, WagonR, Swift, Baleno or A-Star. It set standards for the other manufacturers to think and bring fresh designs for its customers. And with Ritz they are again set to maintain those standards.



Now it’s the perfect time to discuss about all new Maruti Suzuki Ritz. In terms of design this car too has got the fresh design and is new in looks to surprise the Indian customers. The design is inspired from the Swift but differs from the rear end which is quiet similar to the flat looks of the old Santro. What’s unique in this car is the space designed to meet your requirements, whether it be the boot space or nice interiors with good finish.


Maruti Suzuki Ritz is going to have the first Bharat Stage IV engine placed in any Indian passenger car. Ritz is powered by K12M engine. This 1197 engine is second in the K series and retains the technological superiority and fuel efficiency of the K10B engine which powers Maruti Suzuki A star. Ritz is going to be the first car to hold the K12M engine in it. And infact Ritz will be the second car to join the club of K series engine.


The K12M engine further strengthens Maruti Suzuki’s efforts for fuel efficient, green engine technology for Indian customers. With a new technology engine, the Ritz will be positioned in the upper end of the growing compact car segment.
Since Maruti Suzuki Ritz is expected to be launched in the Indian market somewhere around mid or end of May, 2009 and is expected to be priced around Rs 4 lakh to 5.5 lakh. Maruti Suzuki Ritz would be available in 6 versions with the option of direct injection rail diesel too.
